About us

A B O U T  U S

The current building was opened in 1981, after a major fundraising  effort from the parishioner's, led by Fr. David  O’Kane, the then parish priest. It replaced the old “Tin Hut” which was demolished to make way for the new building and car park.
The parish centre used to be a thriving members club, however over the years the use by the members diminished and a new direction had to be found to enable the premises to survive.
It became a balancing act, between accommodating the parish groups and maintaining an income, in order to maintain the premises, whilst contributing financially to St. Herbert’s church.
The centre is reserved for parish groups on Monday to Thursday evenings. The parish centre is fully licensed and consists of a main hall, with a stage, a lounge bar and games room.
The main hall is capable of holding up to 150+ people for parties dependant upon the seating layout.
We can accommodate more people in a theatre style seating arrangement for conferences and meetings.

For an additional charge we can provide a complete sound system along with a big screen and projector.

For smaller events the lounge bar accommodates 30 people and the games room can also take about 30 people.
